Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for sports early, and discovered her ability to sprint when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s, setting a new junior world record. She was the world's youngest champion in 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, defeating her former Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her events.
