Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident right from the day she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first attempt, Felix finished 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from her high school education and was signed to an official contract for Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked among the top three athletes in her respective events.
